Job Summary:

GCOM Infotech is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and architecture. This individual will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to enable secure, high-performance data operations that support enterprise analytics and decision-making.

Key Job Duties:

  • Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration workflows for structured and unstructured datasets
  • Build and optimize data lakes, data warehouses, and analytical data stores using modern cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake or Databricks)
  • Develop and maintain data models, metadata, and schema definitions to support business intelligence and analytics use cases
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security through robust governance frameworks and validation processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver data engineering solutions in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Implement automation, monitoring, and performance tuning for all data processing tasks
  • Support data migration and transformation from legacy systems to modern cloud data platforms
  • Leverage DevOps/DevSecOps practices for code deployment, version control, and CI/CD pipeline integration

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture roles
  • Strong expertise with SQL, Python, Spark, and ETL tools
  • Proficiency in working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Snowflake)
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data warehousing solutions
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST)

Preferred:

  • Experience with Airflow, DBT, Kafka, or other data orchestration tools
  • Government or public sector project experience
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Google Cloud Data Engineer
